Elevate your dinner with Baked Parmesan Fish, a delectable and crispy seafood delight that's both easy to prepare and bursting with flavor. This recipe offers a convenient option for a quick and satisfying dinner that the whole family will love.

  • 4 ingredients
  • 40 minutes
  • 4 Servings

Ingredients

1/3 cup non-fat grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon crushed thyme leaves
4 white fish fillets (approximately 6 ounces each)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a paper bag, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, flour, and crushed thyme.
  3. Gently shake each fish fillet in the bag to coat it with the mixture. Discard any remaining coating ingredients.
  4. Place the coated fillets on a baking pan with a rack.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.

Notes

Choose a firm, mild-tasting fish such as tilapia or cod for this recipe. This will ensure that the fish holds its shape and doesn't become too overpowering in flavor.

Before coating the fish fillets, make sure to pat them dry with paper towels. This will remove any excess moisture and help the coating stick better to the fish.

For a thicker and more flavorful coating, you can dip the fish fillets in beaten egg before coating them in the Parmesan mixture. This will create a delicious and crispy crust.

To achieve a crispy texture, place the coated fish fillets on a wire rack set on top of the baking sheet. This allows the heat to circulate evenly around the fish and helps prevent it from becoming soggy.

Keep a close eye on the fish as it bakes to avoid overcooking. The fish is done when it turns opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Serve the Baked Parmesan Fish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for a burst of brightness. Pair it with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables or a refreshing salad, for a complete and satisfying meal.
